New Post, New City – We Moved to Dallas!

I usually write, “Long time, no hear!” when I haven’t posted in a while, but that is TRULY the case today!

Since my last post, our family has relocated from Atlanta, GA to Dallas, TX for my husband’s new job as the Head Coach of the SMU Men’s Basketball Team.

That’s right—New post, new city. We’ve been ponying up with the SMU Mustangs and are so excited to be a part of the SMU Mustang Family!

Emerging from The Moving Boxes to Explore Dallas

I’ve finally unpacked all of the boxes and feel settled enough to begin posting again. I figured I’d start with this update.

If you’ve ever relocated, you know that unpacking boxes is only one aspect of the moving process!

Becoming familiar with the communities you’re now a part of—in my case, my neighborhood, the city of Dallas (and the DFW Metroplex), and the SMU campus and activities—also factor into feeling “at home” in a new city.

I’m happy to say, I’ve started that exploration here in Dallas!

Last year, I was able to attend the Dallas Arts Fair—thanks to our wonderful realtor, Angela McCants.

Rob and I recently attended the Riverfront Jazz Festival, as well!

And going to the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Gardens is always amazing!

In fact, walking around the Rory Meyers Children’s Adventure Garden almost made me wish my young adult children, Emory & Kai, were little again… almost!  😉

Stay Tuned

Stay tuned for future posts! In addition to the topics usually covered on the site, I’ll also be exploring the joys of being an empty nester (and having your kiddos nearby 🙂), the excitement of my current career change, and the acceptance of life changes in general—focusing on resilience, authenticity and self-care.

In the meantime, you can read my posts, Dr. Dayo Lanier | Reserved Rebel Update! and Embracing Change.  I wrote them both the last time our family relocated!

Enjoy the rest of your day!
