I Always Wanted to Try… Ballroom Dance!

My introduction to Ballroom Dance began at Go Dance Studios here in Knoxville—and I loved every minute!

Ballroom Dance movies are one of my favorite genres to watch (especially Dance with Me, Take the Lead, Shall We Dance?, Marilyn Hotchkiss Ballroom Dancing & Charm School, & Strictly Ballroom), and I was eager to learn the moves I’d seen in those movies!

I approached ballroom dance like a true multipotentialite—I went all in!

My strong drive to achieve mastery (or at least proficiency) at this new skill,
pushed me beyond learning just the introductory dances (Waltz, Rumba & East Coast Swing), right into learning other Rhythm and Smooth dances as well (Cha Cha, Samba, Mambo, Merengue, Bolero, Foxtrot, Tango)!

Here are a few pictures of my Go Dance Christmas Showcase performance (after two-and-a-half months of ballroom lessons… impatience and determination proved to be a good mix!).

Special shoutout to my dance instructor/partner, Garrett; routine choreographer, Kisa; and dance instructor, Shannon, who helped me with arm styling technique and faux eyelash application! 😉
